About

I was born in Montreal and raised in Calgary, Alberta — with the Rockies as my backyard and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors baked in early. I studied Software Engineering at the University of Calgary before making my way to San Francisco to pursue my career, and I've been in love with this city ever since (even if I do miss the mountains and a good powder day).

On the technical side, I'm drawn to cybersecurity, embedded systems, and most of all, the pursuit of deep understanding. There's nothing more satisfying to me than learning a system inside and out — well enough to deconstruct it and build something better. Right now that obsession is manifesting as a smart doorbell system for the 100-year-old building I live in.

But there's a lot more to me than what's on a screen. I grew up playing soccer and badminton, but in university I found rowing and never looked back. I competed for three years with the University of Calgary Dinos, finishing my career at the Canadian University Rowing Championships where our team put together our best-ever performance — qualifying both the men's 8+ and 4+ for A finals. Since then I've channeled that endurance into running and road cycling, following in my parents' footsteps and dragging as many people into the sport as I can. If you're local to San Francisco, you'll probably find me on Hawk Hill on a weekend morning.
